…’Time To Tee Off’…

All Saints Hotel, Bury St Edmund’s, are currently in the process of updating their kitchens and what they can offer in terms of food for all of their customers (both the golfers and the hotel guests).

The latest part of the redevelopment plans has been to install a new club house for the golfers, giving them a chance to grab a pint and a bite to eat in the new restaurant after a round of golf in the Suffolk countryside. Work on the clubhouse started earlier on this year, it is a complete new build for the site with beautiful views of the surrounding area.

For us work started with installing 3 meter sheets of white wall cladding throughout the kitchen, before we could start work on installing the rest of the equipment. Working closely with David throughout the design process to ensure they were happy with the end result.

The cook line is composed of a 6 Grid Rational oven with an Ultra vent to help with extraction in the kitchen, as well as the Lincat fryer and Griddle having an extraction system above both of these items. The two twin pan induction hobs complete the set up, Providing all the tools needed to feed the hungry golfers.

We installed  several pieces of bespoke stainless steel items, with sink units to house under counter glass washers and dishwashers on top of them so staff don’t have to keep bending down to load the machines.

The next area of the hotel to be re developed is the downstairs kitchen area which will be happening within the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for the latest developments coming soon !!

Splinters Outside Caterers

This summer  we  installed a new kitchen for Sally at Splinters Outside Caters, based in Bulmer  Sudbury.

Splinters Outside Caterers have now been established for 42 years providing outside catering for weddings in and around the local area, working alongside venues such as Houchins Farm and Hedingham Castle, making sure the Bride and Groom’s day runs smoothly.

Having had to relocate from their previous premises to the new site meant that all aspects of the kitchen had to be taken into account, changing  from an old farm building to the new workable kitchen downstairs. Upstairs houses a beautiful meeting room  perfect to sit and plan the special day whilst sampling the many delicacies  from the kitchen.

It was our task to help transform the building into a fully functioning kitchen, so the team could prepare the food for their latest weddings.  We spent  time with Sally to understand,  create and provide  the perfect space for her and the team,  making sure all their needs were met.

Once the building had taken it’s shape, following on from work from their builders and electrician, it was our turn to complete the transformation:

New gas line installed for the oven

UPVC Hygienic white wall  cladding

Stainless steel cladding

Extraction Canopy

Gas Interlock System

The kitchen was designed into areas to help the flow of the kitchen. The wash up area as designed so that the under counter dishwasher had a bespoke stand to sit between the inlet and exit tables.

We introduced several wall benches for food prep as well as a new hot cupboard to hold the food. With wall shelves to make the most of the space they have. This  made extra  space not only for the main meals but also the many canapes on offer.

“From when I first met Andy from Total Catering, I knew we were in safe hands,  he’s knowledge of what works and what is required in a caterers kitchen was invaluable.

Andy visited our existing premises took on board what equipment we had and offered advice on what was possible to keep, he worked with us to come to decisions on what new equipment we needed.

Andy produced a comprehensive plan of what was to go where and help us visualise the end product,  this was invaluable as the building itself was a mere shell so impossible to picture what went where!

Throughout the build,  and fitting of the kitchen,  a few changes became necessary and additions made,  nothing was too much trouble for Andy, Kirsty and the team he has surrounded himself with,  all of which were professional and helpful at all times.

I have no hesitation in recommending Total Catering,  they did a sterling job for us and we are really pleased with the end result”    Sally kerr (Splinters Outside Catering)

Total Catering would like to wish Sally and the team continued success at the new venue for the next 42 years
